Meet ineke and résalieke

Specialists in biscuits with a heart for the city

At Capital C, it’s all about the people who walk through our doors every day. Entrepreneurs who bring our creative community to life with their ideas, energy and stories. One of those stories is that of Ineke Kuiper and Résalieke Vlieger-Jansen – two strategic communication professionals who, eight years ago, decided to take Résalieke’s dream seriously: to bake a biscuit that reminds Amsterdam of one simple message — take care of the city and of each other.

Biscuits shaped like hearts, named after former mayor Eberhard van der Laan. What started as a chat on a train became a beloved brand throughout Amsterdam. From cafés and museums to local community initiatives, you’ll spot these buttery, heart-shaped biscuits wherever people go the extra mile for someone else.

About the Eberhardjes and Their Work

The Eberhardjes are more than just biscuits – they’re part of a movement. Ineke and Résalieke operate through two foundations. Stichting Eberhardjes Amsterdam is the enterprising branch. It’s where the biscuits are made, sold, and most importantly – where the story behind them is shared: “Take care of our city and of each other.”

The foundation’s mission is to connect as many residents, businesses, and visitors as possible with this message. Whether it’s serving Eberhardjes with coffee, gifting them in a package, or using them in campaigns and events – everyone who buys or shares an Eberhardje helps spread the message.

All proceeds go back to social initiatives through the Hart voor je Stad foundation. This includes the biscuits themselves, but also donations to local funds via Mensen Maken Amsterdam. In addition, Ineke and Résalieke regularly donate biscuits directly – to thank volunteers, surprise caregivers, or offer a warm gesture to hospice staff. Sharing isn’t a marketing term for them. It’s in the DNA of the brand. They aim to make the good in the city – and in people – visible.

Over the years, they’ve had some amazing adventures. From the Bosshardtjes (a cinnamon biscuit named after Major Bosshardt and created with the Salvation Army) to the online gallery they launched to celebrate 750 Years of Amsterdam, where locals could nominate others who make the city a better place.

Inspiration and Creativity

What motivates them most? Happy faces. An Eberhardje may be small, but to Ineke and Résalieke, it represents recognition and appreciation. It says to someone who’s always there for others: you make a difference. That reaction remains their greatest drive.

Creativity, for them, means thinking in solutions. It’s about believing that it can be done. Running a small foundation with no budget takes ingenuity. That’s why they seek out partners who share their energy – people who get excited about helping the Eberhardjes grow. They create their own campaigns and forge collaborations from connection.

Their motto? “Hocuspocusfocus.”

Yes, they have lots of ideas, but they know impact comes from making clear choices and doing it together. They complement and challenge each other. Their tip for starters? If you feel it, just begin. Entrepreneurship comes with highs and lows, but with the right partner, you’re never alone – and always stronger.

At Home
at Capital C

After spending three years on the Oudezijds Voorburgwal, a major leak flooded their shop in 2024. Everything was lost. A call-out on LinkedIn led them to Capital C, where they were invited to store their things and test the waters in the building. What started out as temporary quickly felt like home. Or, in their words, “a blessing in disguise.”

From day one, they recognised the energy here. Eberhardjes were already being served with coffee, and now the biscuits, tins and T-shirts are available from the take-away downstairs. Capital C fits their way of working – a place full of entrepreneurs, creativity and connection. The welcome is warm, the art is inspiring, and they leave the building every day with fresh ideas.

Do they have a favourite spot? Not exactly. But lunch at Capital Kitchen is always a treat – as are the rooftop drinks and the atmosphere throughout the building. For Ineke and Résalieke, Capital C is far more than just an office. It’s a network, a source of inspiration, and a stage for their mission-driven biscuits.
