The building in its current status
In 2015 the Diamantbeurs was bought by Sijthoff Media Groep and Zadelhoff Beheer BV. When it was time to redefine the building’s purpose, it was clear it had to be about playing a pivotal role again in the future of the city. A future that has a new economic driver today: creativity. And that was the start of an extensive restoration and rebuilding plan.
Bring back the heritage
More than a century after the origin of the Diamantbeurs, the building is being restored, based on original drawings of the architect Van Arkel. The facade is brought back to its original state and the original towers are reinstated
Centre for the creative industry
In the next 1,5 year, this national monument will be transformed into the creative headquarters of Amsterdam.
A place where all areas of the creative industry come together: advertising, design, digital, media, art, photography.
Where creative agencies work under the same roof, where workshops, stand-ups, pop up expositions, debates and mini-lectures take place. Where freelancers and start-ups find there place. And where culinary delights are introduced.
Capital C Amsterdam will open in 2018.
